Philosophy

Ultimately, I believe that every client I see is the expert in their own life. My role as a therapist is not to direct them, but rather to collaborate and utilise my knowledge, skills and experience to help them find the best solution for themselves. Once we have done that together I can then assist them in making that a reality.

Approach

I have two decades of clinical experience including fifteen years in private practice. I have assisted countless clients through a combination of different techniques including: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, CBT, Mentalising and Psychotherapy. I work with clients on a very broad range of issues, but my specialisations are couple/relationship counselling and family therapy, treatment of obsessive-compulsive disorders, stress, trauma, depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders as well as psychological treatment for addictions.

Motivation

I gain a great deal of satisfaction in enabling people to move forward and in playing a facilitative role in that process. This includes my work providing supervision to other practitioners and assisting newly qualified psychologists enter into private practice through the two clinics I established in Sydney.

About Me

I have recently returned to the UK after more than twenty years living (including studying and working in Psychology) in Australia. In my spare time I like to paint and take my enthusiastic dog on walks in the beautiful English countryside.
