The world can be a beautiful and fascinating place but also frightening and overwhelming. We all follow different paths in life and there is no right road to follow. Sometimes we can lose sight of where we were travelling to or why we started out in the first place. Therapy provides an opportunity to put current problems and difficulties in the context of a wider picture and work towards self-acceptance.
I offer an eclectic approach to therapy and adjust to the needs of each individual. I believe a warm empathic relationship is essential. As well as offering CBT, I have a special interest and training in third wave CBT therapies, Mindfulness and Motivational interviewing. The emphasis is on working towards valued living and developing self esteem. My Dramatherapy background also allows for a flexible and creative approach to therapy when required.
The human condition is fragile. Life can bring stress and upheaval when we least expect it. We live in a world of constant uncertainty and often pain. Having worked in numerous different jobs, including acting, I have seen first hand how life can bring challenges which can sometimes seem unsurmountable. We live in a society that encourages people to be ‘happy’ all the time but how realistic is this? I am passionate about helping others find their potential and believe it is a privilege to be part of that journey of discovery.
I have worked in the NHS and private practice for over 15 years, across a number of different services. I have specialised in working with people with mood and adjustment problems, health and neurological conditions and sleep problems. I have worked with individuals, couples and families with a wide range of difficulties and across the lifespan.
I enjoy spending quality relaxing time with family and friends with a focus on living in the moment. I love swimming and whenever possible enjoy travelling and learning about other cultures.
