Everyone could benefit from talking therapies at some point in their lives. Whether to address a longer standing difficulty or a more recent life event. Our perception and narrative of life experiences shape our thoughts, feelings and actions. These can be explored within therapy to develop greater flexibility and choices. Alongside learning strategies to tackle specific difficulties. Taking care of our mind and body are equally important.
I draw from an integrative range of evidence based models to tailor my approach to the individual. Therapeutic models I use include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT); Mindfulness; Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR); Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT); Schema Therapy; Systemic Therapy. My therapeutic style is collaborative, empathic, and non-judgemental. I offer both short and long term therapy depending on the client’s needs and preferences.
I can help with a wide range of difficulties including anxiety, panic, specific phobias, obsessive compulsive disorder, worry, self esteem, body image, low mood, trauma, sleep difficulties, long term health conditions, chronic pain, fatigue, adjustment to life changes, adjustment to illness and disability, relationship difficulties, parenting.
A curiosity in people and desire to help others led me to train as a Clinical Psychologist. Every person is unique and it is a privilege to help another person on life’s journey. As a Clinical Psychologist I have over 10 years clinical experience within the NHS treating a wide range of clinical presenting difficulties and complexities, in variety of settings across the lifespan. I have carried out and published research in peer reviewed journals, delivered teaching in UK and internationally, delivered workshops and provided supervision and training.
I have a love of nature and being by the sea which I find therapeutic in itself. Family time and continuing lifelong learning are important to me.
