I am a highly qualified HCPC registered Counselling Psychologist with excellent people skills and dedicated work ethic. My training is in Clinical, Community and Developmental Psychology, specifically including models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, five distinct psychological therapies – CBT, Transactional Analysis, Psychodynamic, Gestalt, Systemic and lifespan development psychology.
My nine year training qualifies me as a BSc in Developmental Psychology and an MSc in Clinical and Community Psychology. Alongside my Psychology training, in 2012 I started a three years MA in Psychoanalytic Studies at the Tavistock and Portman, accredited by the University of East London. Additionally I successfully completed the Foundation Course in Psychoanalysis at the Institute of Psychoanalysis. Finally I am undertaking a Postgraduate certificate in Child, Adolescent and Family Mental Well-being: multidisciplinary practice at the Tavistock and Portman in this case validated by the University of Essex.
I am highly skilled in assessing and treating severe psychological disorders, especially avoidant and borderline personality disorder as well as addiction and eating disorders. I pride myself on my ability to engage with clients who present with anger issues, eating disorders, addictive and impulsive behaviours, as well as with histories of emotional, interpersonal and behavioural difficulties.
Effective communication with clients is extremely important and I am mindful of adapting my style and techniques according to individual needs and personalities. I genuinely enjoy the challenges of working with people from all cultural backgrounds. I find great reward in seeing my patients successfully complete treatment and make profound, significant and positive changes in their lives.
My passion in this profession is generating and integrating scientific and professional knowledge and skills to improve the professional practice of psychology and human welfare. It is a field I feel extremely passionate about. My therapeutic experience covers working with children, adolescents, adults and families experiencing a wide range of emotional and behavioural difficulties.
I enjoy languages and am able to offer treatment in English, Italian, French and Spanish.
