‘Happiness should be the road on which we travel not just where we end up’.
These days society can make us too busy leaving little time to reflect, relax and feel a sense of self-acceptance and contentment. We can get caught up worrying about the future or the past and feel unable to enjoy the moments in the here and now that can bring happiness.
Therapy works towards re-discovery of yourself, thinking about what is important to you and what would help you to feel happier. It helps you to process and deal with painful aspects of yourself and aspects of life and to move forward with acceptance of the past, hope and self-acceptance.
My therapy provides a confidential and safe place where you can confide, share your real feelings and worries. It is a non-judgemental and patient to support you.
We begin by talking through the current problem and also thinking about past experiences to see you as a whole person. We then think about your goals and aims for your therapy. We will work as a team where you are the expert on yourself and I can bring some knowledge to assist you in moving forwards.
I draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) as well as systemic and mindfulness approaches. Therapy will enable useful self-reflections along with practical skills and new strategies for you to try out day to day to help you to grow and reach your goals.
I have been working as a clinical psychologist for ten years. I am passionate about supporting people through difficult times and helping them to find more self-acceptance and happiness. I have always felt privileged to get to know so many people and support and assist them in their time of need.
Therapy can feel challenging for us both at times but with each of these challenges we can learn more and go on to make lasting changes. Sometimes life can feel unkind and each individual deserves that opportunity to find more of a sense of inner peace.
I enjoy family life and love the great outdoors for down time where I can fully experience tranquillity and lovely colourful sights. An unfulfilled ambition of mine is to succeed with my own garden!!
